Greetings
It’s hard to believe it’s November already, especially with the warm, dry weather. We hope that 2024 has been kind to you and we’re looking forward to seeing you this holiday season! This year, we have some good news to share, but also some not-so-good news.
First of all, we are committed to staying open for at least the first 3 weekends this year. We have unfortunately needed to close after only 2 weekends for the past 4 years, so we are excited to have so many trees ready to go. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer Erin’s special treats after the first 2 weekends. Extracurricular activities will prevent her from being here after December 8. If you would like to special order some of Erin’s goodies, please contact Erin directly at Abelstreats@gmail.com.
Unlike last year when we were hoping the rain would stop, the Northeast is very much in need of rain now. I mention this because although the trees look good now, we know that many are very stressed from the drought, and I worry if this may affect needle retention after cutting. There is nothing we can do about this, and it is affecting all tree farmers in the region. Our best suggestions are to delay cutting your tree until a later weekend if you can, and also be even more diligent about keeping your tree well-watered.
We have already had a number of people call to make tailgating reservations or weekday appointments. Please reach out to us if you have any questions and we will try to work with you to make the arrangements you need.
All trees will be $85 this year.
Please monitor our website and social media for any updates or call 845-677-6395.
Best wishes from everyone at Abel’s Trees.
